The Alchemist's Sanctuary™ is an established creative brand name and identity in continuous use since 2016 across digital, social, and publishing platforms. The name, logo, and related creative assets constitute protected intellectual property under Danish and international copyright and unfair competition law. The domain thealchemistsanctuary.com is officially registered and forms part of the business's intellectual property portfolio, along with verified social media accounts (Facebook, Instagram, Pinterest, LinkedIn, YouTube, Tiktok). These collectively represent the official brand presence. The Alchemist's Sanctuary™ covers current and future creative activities, including fine art prints, publishing, digital media, homeware, fashion, and other derivative works produced under the same trade identity. Our artworks are restored and curated from historical archive sources released under Creative Commons CC0 or equivalent rights-free designations. All AI tools are used solely to assist with restoration, research, and communication. Final artworks remain human-directed and original. No customer data or artwork is ever used for AI training, resale, or data-sharing purposes.
Free worldwide shipping. Prices and checkout are shown in your local currency for reference. EU prices include VAT. Outside the EU, local taxes or import duties may apply on delivery (payable by the recipient). Checkout is processed in EUR; local currencies may display for reference; FX rates and minor rounding are handled by Shopify or the customer's payment provider.
This Policy applies exclusively to physical, made-to-order art prints (the "Products") and forms an integral part of our Terms of Service, Privacy Policy, Cookie Policy, Returns & Refunds Policy, and Legal Notice (collectively, the "Policies"), incorporated herein by reference. By placing an Order (as defined in the Terms of Service), you acknowledge and agree to be bound by this Policy.
The Company endeavors to facilitate efficient, sustainable, and reliable fulfillment; however, all shipments are subject to the terms herein, including limitations on liability. We reserve the right to amend this Policy at any time, with revisions posted on the Website and the Effective Date updated accordingly; continued use of the Services post-amendment shall constitute acceptance. In the event of any conflict between this Policy and the Terms of Service, the Terms of Service shall prevail.
Article 1: Scope and Applicability
1.1 Coverage
This Policy governs all aspects of shipping and delivery for Orders consummated via the Website, encompassing production, dispatch, transit, and receipt of Products. It applies solely to unframed, print-on-demand art reproductions; digital products or ancillary services (if introduced) shall be subject to separate terms.
1.2 Exclusions
This Policy does not extend to: (i) Products shipped under special arrangements; (ii) international trade compliance beyond standard carrier protocols; or (iii) claims arising from post-delivery handling. All shipments are processed on a business-to-consumer basis, with mandatory protections under Directive 2011/83/EU (Consumer Rights Directive) preserved for eligible Users.
Article 2: Fulfillment, Production, and Sustainability Process
2.1 Third-Party Fulfillment
All Products are manufactured on-demand and fulfilled exclusively by our trusted global print partners in accordance with data processing agreements compliant with Article 28 of the General Data Protection Regulation (EU) 2016/679 ("GDPR"). Orders are automatically routed to the geographically proximate production facility to minimize carbon emissions, optimize transit efficiency, and align with sustainability imperatives.
2.2 Production and Packaging Standards
All prints are made to order using FSC®-certified, museum-quality matte paper (250gsm). Prints are shipped unframed to reduce waste and to encourage customers to use recycled or second-hand frames. Each print is packed securely in a recyclable cardboard tube or box to prevent bending or damage in transit. Packaging is kept simple, made from recyclable materials, and avoids unnecessary plastics. Customers are encouraged to reuse or recycle all packaging components and choose sustainable framing options where possible. Orders are produced and shipped locally through reliable print and delivery partners to reduce emissions. The Company maintains no physical inventory; fulfillment begins immediately after payment verification. Packaging is minimal, fully recyclable, and free from single-use plastics, encouraging customers to reuse or recycle materials and choose sustainable framing.
2.3 No Framed Options
The Company does not presently offer framed Products; all prints are dispatched unframed, rolled for protection, and compatible with user-supplied framing to promote environmental stewardship we are encouraging customers to reuse or recycle materials and choose sustainable framing.
2.4 Order Routing and Accuracy
Upon issuance of the order confirmation (the "Confirmation"), fulfillment commences forthwith. You warrant the accuracy, completeness, and validity of all shipping details provided at checkout. The Company disclaims liability for any delays, non-deliveries, or additional costs attributable to erroneous, incomplete, or outdated address information, pursuant to Section 24 of the Danish Sale of Goods Act (Købeloven).
Article 3: Production Timelines
3.1 Estimated Production Period
Production of Products, including digital rendering, printing on FSC®-certified or equivalent sustainable paper, quality assurance, and packaging, shall commence within three (3) to seven (7) business days following receipt of full payment and Confirmation (2–4 typical). Business days exclude weekends, Danish public holidays, and Fulfillment Partner closures.
3.2 Factors Affecting Timelines
Delays may arise from order volume, material availability, or technical anomalies, none of which shall constitute a breach of contract. We shall notify you of material deviations via email where practicable. Production timelines are estimates only and do not include shipping durations.
Article 4: Shipping Methods, Costs, and Delivery Estimates
4.1 Shipping Costs
Standard shipping is provided gratuitously worldwide, inclusive of basic handling. No expedited, express, or premium shipping options are available at present. No express shipping available. All costs are denominated in Euros (EUR) at checkout, subject to currency conversion by your payment provider.
4.2 Delivery Timeframes
Post-production, estimated transit times from dispatch are as follows, derived from Fulfillment Partner data and subject to variation:
EU/UK 3–7 days · US/CA 5–10 days · Rest 7–15 days.
These estimates account for standard carrier performance and do not guarantee delivery by a specific date. Delays occasioned by customs processing, carrier congestion, seasonal peaks (e.g., holiday surcharges), adverse weather, or force majeure events (as defined in the Terms of Service) are expressly excluded from our control. Delivery to your nearest parcel shop / collection point.
4.3 Carrier Selection
Shipments are entrusted to reputable logistics providers within the Fulfilment Partner's network (e.g., PostNord, DHL, or local equivalents). Carrier selection and routing are managed collaboratively between the Fulfilment Partner and the Company to ensure optimal balance between cost, speed, and reliability. You consent to such routing and acknowledge that shipping methods may vary by destination, availability, or carrier capacity. The Company and its Fulfilment Partners shall not be held liable for delays or disruptions arising from customs clearance, local carrier handling, or force majeure circumstances beyond reasonable control.
Article 5: Order Tracking and Notifications
5.1 Tracking Provision
Upon dispatch, the Fulfillment Partner shall generate a unique tracking identifier, which we shall furnish to you via automated email notification, including the carrier's portal link for real-time status updates.
5.2 Notification Protocols
If tracking information is not received within five (5) business days of Order placement, promptly contact support@thealchemistsanctuary.com with your Order reference. We shall investigate expeditiously but disclaim liability for transient email delivery failures attributable to your service provider.
Article 6: Currency, Duties, and Import Charges
6.1 Checkout Currency
All transactions are processed and invoiced in Euros (EUR), with real-time conversion applied for non-EUR payment methods. Checkout in EUR; prices shown in your local currency. EU prices include VAT; outside the EU, local taxes or import duties may apply on delivery (payable by the recipient). Exchange rate fluctuations or bank fees are borne by you.
6.2 Customs and Import Liabilities
For deliveries outside the European Union, you assume sole responsibility for all customs duties, Value Added Tax (VAT) under EU VAT Directive 2006/112/EC or equivalent, import tariffs, brokerage fees, or other governmental levies imposed by the destination jurisdiction. Such charges are determined post-dispatch and collected by the carrier upon arrival; they are neither included in the Order total nor refundable by the Company. Non-payment may result in parcel seizure or return, with attendant costs deducted from any discretionary refunds.
6.3 Compliance with Trade Regulations
You represent that Products comply with your local import laws and that you possess requisite authorizations for restricted cultural artifacts, if applicable.
Article 7: Address Verification, Changes, and Delivery Protocols
7.1 Address Obligations
You covenant to furnish a precise, verifiable shipping address at checkout, including all requisite details (e.g., apartment number, postal code, recipient name). Post-dispatch amendments are infeasible due to automated fulfillment processes.
7.2 Delivery Attempts
Carriers shall undertake reasonable efforts to effect delivery, potentially including safe-place deposition, neighbor handover, or notice issuance, in conformity with local customs and carrier policies. Delivery to your nearest parcel shop / collection point. Upon carrier confirmation of "Delivered" status, title, risk of loss, and all attendant liabilities transfer irrevocably to you at the designated address.
7.3 Failed Deliveries
The Company bears no responsibility for misdeliveries, thefts, or damages occurring subsequent to carrier handover, nor for consequences of incomplete addresses. Insurance against such risks is available via carrier add-ons at checkout, where offered.
Article 8: Handling of Undeliverable, Refused, or Unclaimed Shipments
8.1 Return Scenarios
Parcels deemed undeliverable (e.g., due to address invalidity), refused by the recipient, or unclaimed after notice shall be returned to the Fulfillment Partner or Company at our election.
8.2 Refund Discretion
In such instances, we may, at our sole discretion, issue a partial refund equivalent to the Product value, excluding original shipping (deemed non-refundable), return freight, customs duties, or administrative handling fees. Processing of refunds shall occur within ten (10) to fourteen (14) business days of return confirmation, subject to inspection for resalability. No refunds shall be granted for refused shipments absent extenuating circumstances.
Article 9: Resolution of Lost, Damaged, or Delayed Shipments
9.1 Reporting Thresholds
Significant delays (exceeding estimated timelines by more than seven (7) business days) or losses must be reported to support@thealchemistsanctuary.com within fourteen (14) calendar days of the dispatch date, accompanied by the tracking reference and supporting documentation.
9.2 Investigation and Remedies
Upon notification, we shall liaise with the carrier to investigate the claim. Where liability is established, remedies may include: (i) reissuance of a replacement Product at no additional charge (including shipping); or (ii) a full or prorated refund to the original payment method. Decisions are final and rendered within a reasonable timeframe.
9.3 Delivered Status Irrebuttable
Shipments evidenced as "Delivered" by the carrier shall be deemed conclusively received, precluding refunds or replacements absent demonstrable proof of non-delivery (e.g., police report for theft).
Article 10: Shipping Restrictions and Prohibited Destinations
10.1 Embargoed Jurisdictions
The Company does not dispatch Products to: (i) Belarus; (ii) Russia; (iii) Democratic People's Republic of Korea (North Korea); (iv) Islamic Republic of Iran; (v) Syrian Arab Republic; or (vi) any territory subject to comprehensive sanctions under United Nations Security Council resolutions, European Union Common Foreign and Security Policy regulations (e.g., Council Regulation (EU) No 833/2014), United States Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) designations, or equivalent Danish export controls.
10.2 Carrier Limitations
Shipments are further precluded to destinations where Fulfillment Partner carriers suspend operations due to geopolitical instability, natural calamities, or logistical infeasibility. Orders to restricted areas shall be canceled with full refund, less any processing fees.
Article 11: Limitation of Liability
11.1 Exclusions from Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, including Article 7 of Directive 2019/771 (as transposed into Danish law), the Company, its affiliates, Fulfillment Partners, and carriers shall not be liable for any delays, non-deliveries, damages, losses, or consequential harms arising from: (i) third-party carrier actions or omissions; (ii) customs or import authority interventions; (iii) force majeure events (e.g., natural disasters, strikes, pandemics, or governmental decrees); or (iv) your failure to comply with address or import obligations.
11.2 Aggregate Cap
Our total liability under this Policy shall not exceed the purchase price of the affected Product(s), exclusive of shipping and taxes. These limitations apply irrespective of the legal basis of the claim (contract, tort, or otherwise).

12.1 Designated Support

12.2 Dispute Mechanisms
